Metallica is going old-school.
The band recently announced that they will release a cassette tape version of their upcoming album, “72 Seasons,” when it comes out in April.
The band posted a picture of the tape on social media and wrote, “Looking for a reason to dust off that vintage Walkman?”
The limited-edition cassette will include an eight-panel j-card with lyrics and fans who pre-order this version will get instant MP3 downloads of "Lux Æterna" and "Screaming Suicide."
The cassette resurgence is thanks in part to bands like The Killers, Ghost, Red Hot Chili Peppers, AWOLNation, and Paramore releasing their new albums on tape.
