This Is How Terrifyingly Quick A Kidnapping Can Happen

Los Angeles Police have arrested a woman suspected of trying to kidnap a four-year-old boy at a local McDonald's.

Maralyn Ramos, 33, was taken into custody at 10.45pm Wednesday near the intersection of San Pedro and Agatha streets in downtown Los Angeles, according to an LAPD spokesperson.

She was charged with kidnapping and remains jailed on a $100,000 bond.

Authorities said Ramos was caught on surveillance video around 3.15pm Tuesday trying to snatch the small child inside a McDonald's restaurant located at 1310 East Olympic Blvd in downtown L.A.'s fashion district.

Surveillance video showed the four-year-old boy standing near a window as his family ordered food. The suspected female kidnapper approached the boy from the right before quickly and calmly picking him up and walking out of the restaurant.

A little girl who was sitting in the restaurant saw what happened and alerted adults who stopped the would-be child snatcher in the parking lot, according toKABC-TV

'The suspect attempted to enter a parked vehicle with the victim, but was stopped by a witness. The suspect fled on foot from the area,' LAPD said in an emailed statement.
