An Indiana man who pleaded guilty to killing his three-month-old son waspunched in the face as he was led out of court.Kwin Boeswas sentenced to 19 years in prison and six years of work release as part of a plea deal for beating his son to death.
As Boes was being taken out of court by a pair of deputies, the boy's uncle,Jeremiah Hartley, ran up and punched him in the face. The two deputies tackled Hartley as Boes fell to the ground.
Hartley was taken into custody andcharged with contempt and misdemeanor battery. The same judge who sentenced Boes handed down a jail sentence of 179 days to Hartley.
"He's going through some things. He's upset anyway,"the boy's grandmotherLisa Hartleytold WEVV-TV. "That really upset him just to see him come out; I don't know if he heard how much time he got or if he was just upset about his nephew. This is a horrible crime."
